Meet Dr. Jennifer Malone

Dr. Jennifer “Jen” Malone has been caring for animals with skill, empathy, and unwavering dedication since graduating from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. Before earning her DVM, she completed her undergraduate studies at Augustana College. She later refined her clinical expertise through a rigorous year-long internship in surgery, emergency medicine, internal medicine, dermatology and neurology.

Dr. Malone has a deep passion for small animal medicine and senior pet care, and she excels at helping families navigate the challenges of caring for aging pets. Known for her calm and compassionate approach, she takes pride in her ability to ask the right questions, listen closely, and uncover the “why” behind a pet’s discomfort or illness.

Her love for animals started early. As a child, she carefully rescued earthworms from her family’s driveway after a heavy rain. Early in her veterinary career, she gained wide-ranging experience, including performing ultrasound rotations on a herd of hundreds of pregnant sows.

Dr. Malone grew up in St. Charles and still surprises people when they learn she was a college rower—a sport she enjoyed because of its teamwork and focus.

Outside the clinic, she shares her home with a lively pack: Max and Gabbie the French Bulldogs, Tiny Tina the Frenchton, and four beloved cats who keep the household fun and busy. She enjoys exploring the outdoors, traveling, and spending time with her husband, Bill, and her two children.

Dr. Malone’s philosophy of care centers on building long-term relationships with pets and their owners. She believes in creating a welcoming, family-style environment that encourages honest conversations, shared decision-making and a continuum of care that supports each pet through every stage of life.
